Maths / Solveing words problem

 This week for maths we are learning how to solve words problem.

First we had to read the word problem to see if we could find the number sentence and the answer by using brackets. Brackets are only used words add by someone other than the original writer or speaker.

Lastly you have to figure out the answer by reading the equation.

  


Safety plans

 For inquiry we checked out the hazards, risk, and consequences that could happen during making a fire and smores.


First, we discussed different hazards and risks. Next we wrote it down. A hazard for the fire is the fire itself and the consequences are getting burnt.

Then, we discussed some consequences that could happen. Consequences can be how can we prevent it, whose responsibility is it, and the emergency plan.

Mr Ogilvie lit up the fire and then demonstrated how to roast the marshmallows. After he demonstrated we made our own smores.

After, we made another safety plan for making the smores with the fire. We repeated the same process but wrote down different hazards, risks and consequences. Then we made smores.

Governing Topics / Election

Governing topics and the policies are action that political part's want to put into action when they get into power. The two most important topic to me is community and inclusion,transport and infrastructure.


Community and inclusion is about  included people being treated fairly.


Education is how the government should be spending money on schools.

I chose these two topics because education is very important to me because I'm still in school & Community  is something the include people treated fairly.

Making connection

L.I to identify and describe connections

Connections have a similar idea of something else. There are three main connections they are text to self, text to text, text to world.

What is texts to texts ?
Text to text connection is when the reader connects to another story or text.

What is text to would ?
Text to world is something in the book that can happen in the would.

What text to self  ?
Text to self is something making connection on something similar that could happen in a book or yourself.

Risk Assessment quiz



This week we were learning about hazards and risk.


First we had to give each situation a number that relates to low, likely, possible, elevated, extreme risk.


Second we wrote consequences to go with the situatioan. Consequences are something that results from the
situasituation.

Multipilcation word problem

This week we learned multiplication word problems.

We wrote multiplication word problems. Next we coded the answers to say correct or incorrect. Lastly we tested the coding to see if the answer was correct.

Basic fact.

Today i did basic fact up to 10.

I only got 2 wrong and my time was 23 minted and 48 second like how you can see at the top.
I will try to go hire then 10 up to 20 and to get all of the answer right even my 10 to get it alright.

SSR Selfie/Epic Adventure/Tom Gates/

Today i did SSR Selfie.

For the SSR Selfie i was summarizing the book.My book was called Epic Adventure/Tom Gates/.
I had to find information and facts about the the book of telling what the story is about and Listing new words i have learnt.

The book was about when Marcus was struggling thing like exams ,Sports,People dramatic.I think this book is about when Marcus imaged stuff so that it can come true. 

The Gruffalo

LI: to compare products using reciprocal reading

Reading the Gruffalo story we had to visualising the the main parts of the story also the book.

Visualizing  is a strategy.It help people to know what the main idea.


The nogard is also about creating an image inside of your head. The instructions is to help me visualizing the characters in the book.



Hazards & Risk

My group learnt how to identify risks and hazards.


First, we discussed what hazards and risks are.  Hazards are something that can
be used to cause injuries or pain, and risks are the possibility that something will happen to cause harm or pain.


Then, We focused on finding four hazards at home, four hazards at school,
four hazards in sport and four hazards in our community.


After that, we worked on identifying the risks that the hazards cause. 
We put our understanding of each risk and hazard into a google slide.


The google slide shows what the hazard is and the risks that the hazard can cause. 
The hazards that we put for school are
:Bookshelf, Glue gun, Being late, Not completing work, and some others.

The purpose of this activity is to understand the risks that hazards can cause.

Character Description.

A character description gives people information about appearance, experience and personality.

Appearance gives information about what the face, hair, body and clothes look like.

Experience gives information about where they live, who their family and friends are, their special interests, hobbies or talents, and their secrets or special achievements.

Personality gives information about what kind of person they are, how they behave, what do they say and what makes them interesting or different.
